life

What a boring title!! What were you THINKING John, for doing such a boring title. Ah vell!

This morning was great. Actually, School this morning was great. Actually, Choir in school this morning was great! Mr. Stutzman is teaching Choir at PCHS. WHAT A DEAL SAID EDWARD PEAL!!!!! It is good.

I am not feeling very inspired. I am not feeling very inspired at all. I think I am far too tired to really enjoy this friday night. I have the feeling I will either drink some caffinated beverage and stay up half the night, or barely survive until I get to crawl into my bed. What joy you are hearing from these tired lips. (haha) I never thought that the joy would be this real, this late into the evening. (haha, again)

Random Sentences that may or may not be true.

Posted by thesinger on August 27, 2007

The seriousness of this day amazes me.

I am fond of tractor work.

I am listening to some Chanticleer.

It is well worth listening to.

My camera feels neglected.

I did school this morning and worked at the seed house this afternoon.

That is an ideal way to slide into the school grind.

This is a very strange post.

Perhaps it has something to do with the strangeness of the author?

Funeral.

Posted by thesinger on August 23, 2007

Ya, it was rough. Thanks for praying. It was a big help.

After the funeral, however, it was party time with cousins; still is for that matter. I’m heading out to the Dutch Kitchen to be with extended family/cousins just for the hang of it. Now, isn’t that cool???? You had better believe it’s cool!!!!!

Need to go.

Grandma.

Posted by thesinger on August 19, 2007

Here are two pictures of Grandma for my viewing audience. The first one is from a portrait deal I did for them, and the second one is of Grandpa’s at our Miller reunion at Morning Star Camp.

Grandma died.

Posted by thesinger on August 19, 2007

Ya, This morning at around 5:00, she went home to be with her Lord. What Joy, and yes, what sadness we face now that we are left behind.

Mary Martha Miller was a wonderful Grandma. One of the memories that continues to come back to me is how that longer ago, when she still could make food in the kitchen, she would make several batches of Rice Crispy Candy and usually send a plate home with one of us guys. That Candy was of the best caliber, EVER!!! So yeah, my mom has the same recipe, but it never quite tasted as good as Grandma’s Rice Crispy Candy.

Perhaps some pics later. (read: I don’t have time to find them now, but they are around here somewhere.)

Well, I guess you didn’t have much choice in the matter. :)

Kevin is HERE!

Posted by thesinger on August 17, 2007

Ya, teh good man is here. Last night, when we went to the airport to pick him up, he seemed really bushed. Ok, so, actually, ALL of us were bushed. You see, it happened that he had at least one (maybe two, I’m not sure) canceled flight(s), and then the one he actually got on was postponed until really late at night. This meant that he got into Wichita, KS at the “wonderful” time of 2:23 AM. What a joy!!!

So, we were all very bushed! This meant that we didn’t even talk all the way home, we were too tired. Pain.

Another good thing about this whole story is that we got to bed at about 4:00 AM. This morning, when Dad came into my room to wake me up, if felt as though I had just taken a little nap. (He woke me up at 7:00, like normal.) So, all day today I was working at the Seed House with only three hours of sleep under my metaphorical belt. Pain, again.

So, I am tired. Should this surprise you? I think not.

ps. The next time you see Kevin, remind him not to come into Wichita at 2:00 in the morning. It will make us all feel better.

The Seed Meeting/Work

Posted by thesinger on August 11, 2007

Ya, this will be a work related post. It will also have an excessive amount of pictures. All of them were taken on Thursday, either in staff meeting, or during the day.

It’s time to start the day.

g-057.jpg

First it’s staff-meeting time.

g-060.jpg

Everybody is “awake” and “VERY EXCITED”.

g-061.jpg

g-056.jpg

This the Clipper Cleaner.

g-051.jpg

These next two are of the Gravity Table, the second cleaner that we run the wheat over.

For our annual Fall Seed sales meeting, we clean up almost everything in and around the seed house, so that everything looks just “pretty-pretty” for the 250+ customers that come. Here is Luke, doing some final sweeping in the main warehouse area. (Luke helped us for the day of the meeting, since he was on the way home from Mexico. He was teaching English with Floyd and his team.)

g-080.jpg

One of the hardest things to do is empty the warehouse of pallets/stuff. Here is a picture of our nearly empty warehouse. (YAY US!!!)

g-082.jpg

Here is Ian picking up barrels of dirt with the forklift.

g-079.jpg

Ah, one of the benefits of Seed Meeting day is free pop for the employees. I think I drank three cans. :)

g-068-512-x-341.jpg

I failed to get any pictures of during the meeting. (HOW SHAMEFUL, I KNOW!!! But I was busy eating that good food. YUM!) But here is one of after the meeting with rows and rows of empty chairs.

g-083.jpg

In conclusion, it was a good meeting. We had everything cleaned up in good time and were able to make it a successful meeting. Unfortunately, it turned out to be VERY warm that evening. Like, at the warmest point, it was 96 degrees. Ok, so you must realize that that measurement was taken outside, in the breeze. Inside the warehouse with hardly any breeze and with about 300 bodies, IT WAS COOKING!!! Trust me!! That was probably the most painful part about the evening. Otherwise, it was a good meeting.

Newsy Update

Posted by thesinger on August 7, 2007

Ya, I feel, well, how do I feel? To begin, I feel full. (I just finished eating lunch) I also feel excited because we get to play volleyball tonight. YAY!!! That will be swell, fun, good, etc., etc. . . .

I also feel good about the Sacred Choral reading session. The music was of the fairly modern churchy type, which means that there was no a cappella stuff; all of it had at least piano accompaniment. That was painful! :( It was a good day, however, even if the music wasn’t as good as the day before.

On Sunday, we had Marvin Yutzy’s family over for lunch, which was a really peaceful time. After dinner we played the card game Steal. Justin won. He had too many skip-bo’s. :(

On Sunday evening, the youth had a free evening, which allowed Dad, Mom, Anja, Loyal, and myself to go to an uncles and aunts party in honor of Jay and Verna’s 46th anniversary. ‘Twas boring, but good anyway.

Monday was a typical Monday in its depressing reality. Such is life.

Monday evening was actually enjoyable. I did some stuff with Anonymous Somebodies music, and chatted with some of my far away cousins, Austin/Random Thinker and Kevin. GOOD TIMES!!

I hope this newsy update didn’t offend my readership even if it was boring/lengthy/verbose.

thesinger

ps. I have a question for the readers that will be at the Anonymous Somebodies Concert at the coffee shop. How many songs do you want us to sing? How long can we hold your attention? Or better yet, tell me how long you want to hear us. One hour? One and a half hours? Two hours? Just tell me what you think. Thanks in advance.
