Music 1

Posted by thesinger on September 13, 2006

consists of two people leading songs and than Mr. S picks two groups of people to get up and sing the sight reading song for the day. To clarify, everybody in the class is in a group of two or three people. Each group gets the sight reading assignment ready by practicing before class. The way Mr. S picks who sings is he has two of what he calls “Torture Mugs”. The first mug has each groups name in it. The interesting thing about this is that each group has three slips so that they will have three opportunities to stand in front of the class and sing an exercise. The second mug has four slips of paper in it. Depending on which one is drawn, the group will either count and clap the rhythm, say the words to the rhythm, sing the solfege, or sing the song in it’s entirety. Than, to finish the class we work on the next assignment in our books. This is the structure of Music class. What I wish I could tell you is about all the fun we have as a class. When Mr. S rules the classroom, it’s funny. GUARANTEED!

So, I’m not sure why I gave you a monolog on Music 1, but anyway, here it is.

To my fellow classmates who are reading this, I’ll see you there!

Here is a pic of our dear beloved Mr. S. This was taken last year in music 1.
